How Domain Transactions Work

Buying or selling a domain through c22k.com is simple and protected end-to-end. All transactions are handled by Escrow.com — a licensed, regulated third-party escrow service — so neither side can be cheated.

How the Transaction Works

Step 1 — Buyer makes an offer

Find a domain on c22k.com. Visit the domain's page and click Make an Offer. Enter your offer amount and you'll be directed to Escrow.com to review and fund the transaction.

Your funds are held by Escrow.com — not by c22k.com — until the transfer is fully confirmed. Escrow.com is a licensed escrow provider regulated in the US.

Step 2 — Seller accepts and sends the auth code

Escrow.com notifies the seller by email. Once the seller agrees to the transaction, they retrieve the domain's auth code (also called the EPP code or transfer secret) from their registrar and submit it through Escrow.com.

Step 3 — Buyer initiates the transfer

With the auth code provided via Escrow.com, go to your registrar (e.g. Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare Registrar) and start an incoming transfer:

  1. Enter the domain name
  2. Paste in the auth code
  3. Complete the registrar's checkout (transfers typically include a 1-year renewal)
  4. Approve the confirmation email sent to you

Transfer time: Most registrars complete the transfer within 5–7 days.

Step 4 — Buyer confirms, Escrow.com releases funds

Once the domain appears in your registrar account and the transfer is complete, confirm the transaction on Escrow.com. You have 3 days from completion to confirm.

If no confirmation is received within 3 days, Escrow.com automatically confirms and releases funds to the seller.

Note: Verify that you have full ownership at your registrar before confirming.

Refunds

You can request a full refund through Escrow.com at any point before the seller submits the auth code. Once the auth code has been delivered, the transfer is considered in progress. All refund and dispute resolution is handled directly by Escrow.com.

For Sellers

List Your Domain

Visit c22k.com/sell and submit your domain name and asking price. We'll guide you through a quick DNS verification step to prove you own the domain.

Your Domain Gets Its Own Landing Page

Once verified, your domain immediately shows a "For sale" page at its own URL — so buyers who navigate directly to your domain see it listed. You'll also appear in the c22k.com marketplace.

When a Buyer Makes an Offer

Escrow.com emails you directly with the transaction details. You log into Escrow.com to review and agree to the terms, then submit your auth code to start the transfer. Once the buyer confirms receipt, Escrow.com pays out your proceeds directly.

c22k.com charges a 5% broker commission — one of the lowest rates in the industry. Most platforms charge 15–25%.
